Self-healing of the body can be achieved far more frequently by means of constitutional medicine than rational, experimentally orientated medicine would have us believe.

However, the major (especially technological) advances in medicine – although they are not being called into question at all – are no justification for undervaluing or even ignoring the experience of our medical forebears.

It was Bernhard Aschner who brilliantly handed down to us the wealth of experience of the ancient doctors. This was after he became convinced that the development of modern, scientifically orientated medicine based on Virchow’s cellular pathology was contributing towards the isolation of ancient tradition in medical practice.

In the author’s long years of medical practice, using the methods of constitutional medicine handed down by Aschner, he has personally been able to help lots of patients at the Giessen University Clinics in the functional sphere of pain therapy after all methods of modern medicine had been exhausted.
