Based on feedback from loyal customers and juice connoisseurs, the makers of the Green Star range have come up with a new sleek design, more effective juice extraction through a revolutionary change to their twin gear technology and a number of other improved features in the design of the new Green Star Elite.
While the twin gears of the Green Star and Green Star Gold Juicers have a two stage juicing process - crushing and pressing, the Green Star Elite Jumbo Twin Gears have been improved to three stages by adding a mixing stage to the gears.
New unique 3 stage juicing process
Stage 1 is the crushing and cutting of vegetables, fruit and wheatgrass, slowly without the damaging heat of centrifugal juicers.
Stage 2 is the mixing of the pulp so that cell membranes can be easily ground open to allow more minerals to be extracted. By adding the mixing stage in between the crushing and pressing stages, juicing soft fruits has also become much easier and more effective.
Stage 3 is the pressing part of the process. The shape of the gears at the pressing stage is different from the mixing stage and forces the produce against the screen as hard as possible, separating the juice from the pulp thus producing a fresher juice with a higher nutritional value.
Indeed, the very fact that the Jumbo Twin Gears are longer means that produce is being juiced for longer leading to higher yields. In fact, the Greenstar Elite produces a higher juice yield than the other Greenstar Juicers. This is seen clearly by the very dry pulp ejected from the machine at the end of the process.
The Bio-magnets included in the Greenstar range are also included in the Jumbo Twin gears ensuring that more minerals are “pulled” into the juice, increasing the juice’s bioavailability, which means your body can more effectively absorb and utilise the dissolved minerals.
One of the main differences between this model and the other Green Star juicers is the departure from knobs to attach the twin gears. The GSE-5000 Green Star Elite Juicer uses convenient latches instead of the old difficult to handle screw knobs, making set up and break down time a quicker easier process. For a twin gear juicer, this is an efficient easy to use model.

Lighter in weight - All Green Star Elite components such as the twin gear housing and outlet casing are now lighter in weight than its predecessors.
Added safety – Green Star Elite prevents injury by eliminating your chances of interacting with moving parts by including a safety switch system attached to the safety hood, which disables operation when the hood is removed.
New Easy Grip Outlet Adjusting Knob – The knob has been re-designed to include easy grip ridges so you can easily grasp, turn and manually control the pressure inside the machine quickly so you can juice a wider variety of fruits and vegetables of different consistencies.

Juicing Performance
The Green Star Elite GSE-5000 juicer doesn't have a tendency to clog with pulp like older twin gear juicers do. So when juicing pulpy fruit there’s no need to stop the juicing process to clean out the machine before starting again.
A major factor in performance is juice yield. The Green Star Elite has increased the yield even more than its counterparts. Juice yield equates out to how much you spend on produce, because if a juicer doesn't extract all of the juice, it ends up wasted in the pulp. It extracts about 60% more juice than an inexpensive centrifugal juicer, and 30% more than top of the line centrifugals. It even has an edge over most of our other juicers.
So even though the Elite GSE-5000 has a big price tag, it may actually save you money compared to a less expensive juicer with a lower juice yield. That's because more juice from each pound of produce means less produce to buy. The money savings are greater if you plan to do intensive juicing, such as juicing every day, or juicing several quarts at a time or if you juice organic produce.
The slow 200 watt motor takes it time, slowly extracting every last ounce of juice from the fibre, leaving a dry powdery pulp in its wake. It's a slow, methodical machine that extracts maximum yield with minimal waste.
Durability
The parts are well made, sturdy and solid. Since it uses a twin gear method, there are no cutting blades to replace due to dulling. You are unlikely to ever need the 5 year warranty. It's not uncommon for folks to have a Green Star Juicer for 20 years.
The Green Star Elite Juicer isn't for everyone. If you've never juiced before, or aren't sure you will be doing a lot of juicing, it's better to start off with a less expensive model until you're sure you want to keep juicing.
It also isn't for those who want a quick and easy glass of fresh juice with minimal time spent on clean up.

If you want to have the flexibility to juice citrus, soft fruits, berries, hard fruits, soft vegetables, hard vegetables, ginger, greens, sprouts and wheatgrass this may be the machine for you. You'll have to compromise on a bit of extra clean up time with this machine, but those are choices we all have to make based on our lifestyles.
