Organic Spelt Grain for wheatgrass, sprouts or milling

SPELT is an ancient form of wheat which has not been bred for its starch or gluten properties. Therefore it has retained its excellent flavour and makes a delicious flour.

Spelt can be grown into small wheat sprouts for eating, or fully grown into grass for juicing. As a grass it is very similar to wheat grass but many believe organic spelt grain produces the best lush green grass for juicing.

Spelt contains more vitamins B-1 and B-2 than other grains and supplies us with valuable minerals. Its beneficial amino acid balance is unique among grains.

Biologically, spelt closely resembles wheat. Yet because of its great solubility many wheat-sensitive individuals seem to tolerate it very well. It contains a little more gluten than wheat, so it is the only Superfood that makes excellent loaves of yeast-raised bread. For flavour spelt can't be beaten.

The organic spelt grain still in its husk and supplied in 5 kg bags, has been grown in Italy. 5 kg is enough to grow at least 10 large trays of fresh wheat grass.

The 500g bags of organic spelt grain have been grown in the UK. This spelt grain has been dehusked making it suitable for milling, flaking or cooking as well as for growing into sprouted wheat and wheatgrass.
