Chlorine is 'a gaseous, greenish-yellow element used as a bleaching and disinfecting agent'. It is added to all tap water as a disinfectant, to kill bacteria. The chlorine in your water is designed to attack living organic matter … and we are living organic matter!

In your shower water, chlorine is one of a number of vaporised chemicals that can adversely affect your health. The skin is the body's largest organ. Warm shower water opens your pores, causing your skin to act like a sponge. Tests have shown that your body can absorb more chlorine by taking a 10 minute shower, than by drinking 8 glasses of the same water.

The Showerwise Deluxe Filter reduces the inhalation of vapours and the absorption of chemicals by effectively removing chlorine and other contaminants. The filter uses a proprietary, patented media called Chlorgon and KDF-55, a 'golden sand' made from a special high-purity copper and zinc alloy. As well as chlorine and chlorine by-products the Showerwise Deluxe removes other contaminants including iron, lead, arsenic, mercury and hydrogen sulphide. The filter also controls several types of bacteria, algae, fungi and mould. The inner stainless steel mesh strainer helps filter out dirt and sediment.

Inner Replaceable Filter Cartridge

The Showerwise Deluxe Filter has 10 to 20 times the life and effectiveness of any carbon-only filter. While a carbon filter works well in cold water only, the patented KDF and Chlorgon material used in the Showerwise performs best in warm or hot water. And Showerwise contains over 50% more filtering material for a longer effective lifetime than most ofther filters.

Easy to install

Showerwise installs easily by hand (no tools required) and the filter cartridge can be replaced in just a few minutes. The filter casing simply unscrews in two halves so the inner cartridge can be removed and replaced. Life expectancy of the cartridge is 12,500 UK gallons (15,000 US gallons) or approximately 12-18 months, depending on the water quality and frequency of use. The Showerwise Deluxe long life performance is a breakthrough in shower water treatment technology.

The Deluxe Showerwise has a standard British screw thread at both ends and simply screws into place on your existing shower. It can be fitted either next to the showerhead itself (as pictured on the American-style fixed shower above) or at either end of a shower hosepipe on UK-style showers. A short flexible hosepipe or elbow joints can be used to create an extended fitting for the Showerwise Deluxe Filter near the wall end of the hosepipe.

Alternatively, a short flexible hosepipe can be fitted between the showerfilter and a hand held showerhead as shown below. This should allow the filter to hang below the showerhead holder so the showerhead is more stable and not top heavy.
