Water Containers
Distilled water is produced slowly, so you don't want to suddenly run out! Therefore, unless you have a plumbed-in distiller with a built-in storage tank, it is advisable to make plenty of distilled water well before you need it. Here are a number of helpful storage solutions for distilled water, in glass, high gloss stainless steel and plastic.
All the plastic containers are made of non-leaching food-grade plastic, unless otherwise noted. We have tested them by storing distilled water in each of them for at least 3 months. The distilled water was checked with a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter at regular intervals and all readings were 0 (zero) parts per million, showing that nothing had leached into the distilled water during the full 3 month period.
Distilled water is so pure it can be used indefinitely if stored properly, i.e. in a sealed container in a cool (room temperature), dry envioronment away from chemicals such as household cleaning products and solvents such as petrol, paint thinners and other toxic materials. As a rough guide you can store distilled water for up to around 6 months.
