Enema Kits, Colon Health

The human digestive system consists of a long tube extending from the mouth to the rectum. The system digests the solid food and liquid we eat and drink, absorbing the nutrients along the way. What is left of the solid material exits the body via the large intestine and rectum.

A high fibre diet helps food move through the digestive tract and prevents it getting stuck during transition ~ the fibre acts rather like an intestinal broom! Nutritionists and doctors advise us to eat lots of fruit and vegetables. They are the source of fibre, living enzymes, vitamins and trace minerals that our bodies need. These nutrients are normally absorbed by our digestive system into our blood where they are used for natural, continuous regeneration of healthy cells. So a healthy diet will maintain a healthy digestive system.

But with diets containing a high proportion of refined, over-processed foods, with high fat and sugar content food does not pass through the system but gets stuck in the many small pockets along the way. The colon walls become impacted with faecal matter that begins to putrify and ferment making the whole internal environment toxic. Poisons are distributed through the entire system instead of nutrients, and the condition of toxemia arises. The affected person is not satisfied by food, feels hungry and eats more than he or she needs.

In a healthy colon friendly bacteria will control unfriendly, disease producing bacteria and will produce a natural lubrication. In an unhealthy colon pathogenic bacteria proliferate and illness results. Constipation is often the first symptom to manifest.

Regular bowel cleansing will remedy this situation and a regular maintenance programme is advised once the bowel resumes normal activity. Enemas are a significant and useful self-help bowel cleansing measure, whether for preventive or curative treatment. Complementary therapists have long recommended the taking of a regular enema as part of ongoing body maintenance. For some, taking daily enemas forms part of their cancer treatment because of the ability of some types of enema to reach the portal vein thereby enabling the liver to release toxins. Enemas are most effective in carrying away toxins out of the body, especially whenever any form of fasting or dietary regime releases toxins into the blood and lymph.

Herbs, diet, massage, packs and poultices can also be used for complete bowel cleansing and maintenance. The herbal Colon Cleansing Program can be taken orally by those who are reluctant to take an enema.

One of the happy results of a clean colon is a more stable emotional life. It is said amongst natural healers that the constipated person is an irritable, impatient one. If we could only realise consciously the importance of internal hygiene on our general health, wellbeing and appearance, we would balance all our efforts for external appearance with internal cleanliness.
