Heavy Drinkers earn more money than their teetotal counterparts. So says Chris Auld of the University of Calgary, who has discovered that those who consume alcohol at least once a month make roughly 10% more than those who rarely touch a drop. And people who drink more than once a week tend to be even richer. But don't imagine that you can boost your salary by hitting the bottle. The reason for this disparity, says Auld, is that people in high-flying jobs turn to alcohol to help them cope with stress. It is also possible that outgoing people who enjoy a drink find it easier to get on with people and thereby make progress at work
